Clarity Partners is partnering with a forward-thinking professional services company based in Perth to find a skilled Payroll Officer. About the role:
As a Payroll Officer, you will handle the full spectrum of payroll duties, including processing pay runs, managing leave and entitlements, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and responding to employee queries. You'll also assist with reporting, reconciliations, and general payroll support across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Process fortnightly/monthly payroll for all staff accurately and on time.
- Calculate tax withholdings, superannuation, leave, allowances, terminations, and adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Tax Office (ATO) and Fair Work regulations, including Single Touch Payroll (STP).
- Manage payroll-related queries from employees and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain employee records and input new starter/termination data.
- Prepare payroll reconciliations and reports for month-end and audit purposes.
- Liaise with Finance, HR, and external providers (e.g. superannuation funds).
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Desirable:
- Minimum 2 years end to end payroll experience (ideally in engineering or professional services).
- Solid working knowledge of payroll legislation, tax, superannuation, and award compliance.
- Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g. SAP, Definitiv or Ichris) and MS Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and a client?focused mindset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across Finance and HR teams.
- Self?motivated and capable of managing competing deadlines.
- A qualification in Payroll or Accounting, and Finance.
