Role Overview – Chief Medical Officer

We’re looking for a forward-thinking Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to guide our clinical strategy and help elevate the quality, safety, and consistency of care at Leaf Doctors. This is a unique role that blends patient care with clinical leadership—perfect for someone who enjoys staying hands-on while driving broader system improvements.

You’ll work closely with our medical team, leadership, and support staff to maintain clinical standards, develop protocols, and ensure the ongoing delivery of safe, evidence-based care. You’ll also engage directly with patients via telehealth, helping us stay connected to the clinical realities our practitioners face every day.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Oversight & Governance

Lead the development and review of clinical policies, protocols, and quality benchmarks

Oversee prescribing practices, documentation, and risk management

Participate in the review of incidents, patient concerns, and compliance-related matters

Champion quality assurance initiatives, including clinical audits and continuous improvement strategies

Workforce Development & Engagement

Support and mentor prescribers through performance feedback and clinical education

Foster collaboration through regular clinician touchpoints and group learning sessions

Act as a key contact for prescriber support, onboarding, and ongoing clinical queries

Direct Patient Care

Conduct telehealth consultations with a focus on delivering high-quality, plant-based treatment

Maintain a small caseload to stay grounded in the patient experience and clinical workflow

Provide exemplary care that aligns with Leaf Doctors’ values of integrity, accessibility, and empathy

About You

AHPRA-registered medical professional

Extensive clinical experience, ideally with exposure to telehealth and/or alternative treatments

Strong background in clinical governance, patient safety, and quality improvement

Confident with digital systems and remote communication tools

A strategic mindset with a hands-on, collaborative leadership style
