Foundation Recruitment is proud to be partnering with the City of Palmerston to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Asset Management Lead to drive the planning, maintenance, and continuous improvement of vital infrastructure assets.
Reporting to the IT and Assets Manager, this leadership role oversees a small team and works across departments to ensure the delivery of high-quality asset management and GIS services.
- Salary Range: $118,721 - $124,503 + super
- Leave Loading at 17.5% or up to $1,700 per financial year
- 6 weeks annual leave; 3 days annual close-down with pay

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of Asset Management Plans for all major infrastructure asset classes, including civil works, buildings, and fleet.
- Oversee and maintain the integrity of asset and GIS data, ensuring it's accurate, accessible, and relevant to stakeholders across the Council.
- Drive continuous improvement in asset management practices aligned with industry standards.
- Collaborate with Finance on revaluations, reporting, and budgeting for asset-related activities.
- Coordinate asset inspections, manage consultants, and ensure smooth project delivery.
- Provide training and support to staff and stakeholders on asset systems, GIS tools, and procedures.
- Prepare clear and informed reports, plans, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Asset Management, Civil Engineering, GIS, or a related field.
- At least 2 years' experience in asset management with hands-on knowledge of infrastructure planning.
- Confident managing and mentoring a small team of 2.
- Strong knowledge of asset databases, GIS systems, and relevant standards.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
- Holds a Class C Driver’s Licence and able to pass pre-employment checks (medical and criminal history).
