About the Opportunity
Roper Gulf Regional Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as an Assets Manager. This role offers a unique chance to manage and enhance the council's extensive portfolio of assets, including infrastructure, roads, and fleet. Based in Katherine, NT, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective and efficient management of council assets, contributing to the overall strategic objectives of the council. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in a diverse and expansive region, working with a dedicated team to deliver high-quality outcomes for the community.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management: Oversee council-owned and controlled assets, develop and implement an Asset Management Plan.
Partnership Development: Build effective partnerships with managers, agencies, asset supply businesses, service providers, and other stakeholders.
Advisory Role: Provide high-quality advice and recommendations to the Executive, Senior Management, and staff on asset management matters.
Procurement Management: Manage the procurement of materials and services in line with Local Government procedures and legislative requirements.
Policy Development: Develop policies, procedures, and program objectives aimed at implementing best practices in asset and project management.
What We Offer
Competitive Salary: $124,317.47 to $136,878.86 per annum (based on qualifications and experience) plus superannuation
Accommodation & Vehicle: Subsidised accommodation and a vehicle for business and personal use.
Relocation Assistance: Up to $5,000.
Professional Development: Up to $1,000 per year for professional associations and up to $2,000 per year for professional development.
Generous Leave: Six weeks of annual leave, plus 10 days of paid personal or carer’s leave, and salary packaging.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A post-graduate degree in Assets Management or extensive knowledge and experience in a similar discipline.
Proven ability to negotiate and manage leases, contracts, and agreements.
Experience in procurement practices and providing high-quality written reports and advice.
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
Experience in developing and implementing policies and strategic asset management plans.
