POSITION VACANT: BISTRO CHEF / EXPERIENCED COOK

Location: Bamaga Tavern, Far North Queensland

Join us at the Bamaga Tavern - Australia’s northernmost mainland pub! Located just 40km from the Tip of Cape York, Bamaga offers access to some of the country’s most spectacular fishing, four-wheel driving, hiking, and camping adventures.

We are currently seeking a full-time Bistro Chef or Experienced Cook to lead our busy kitchen operations.

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with creativity, passion, and drive to thrive in a fast-paced, remote hospitality environment.

Essential Criteria:

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or a minimum of 4 years’ experience managing a kitchen and staff.

Ability to multi-task and also provide catering/function services.

Experience in stock ordering, meal costing, and menu preparation.

Skilled in conducting stocktakes.

Ability to adapt in a reactive, fast-changing environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Desirable:

Prior experience in remote or live-in hospitality roles.

Experience working in Indigenous communities.
