The Role
Air Training Systems Program Office (ATSPO) has a new role available for an APS 6 Project Support Officer based at Brindabella Park. In this role, you will work with the ATSPO Project Management Office (PMO) team, along with the broader SPO, delivering and supporting multiple projects including, but not limited to:
DEF5428 - providing through life capability assurance to the Pilot Training System (PTS), by implementing scalability, primarily through the introduction of a commercial ab-initio pilot training solution.
AIR05248PH3- developing Air Mission Training School (AMTS) to provide initial aviation employment training to Air Force and Navy Mission Aircrew specialists. This project also includes the replacement of the two School of Air Traffic Control (SATC) tower simulation suites and training support devices.

As part of the Joint Aviation Systems Division (JASD) within CASG, the Air Training Systems Program Office (ATSPO) is located in Regional Victoria at the RAAF Base East Sale with an office also located at Brindabella Park in Canberra.

Our Ideal Candidate
Our Ideal Candidate for this role will possess the following:
- Experience in assisting the management and oversight of projects including control, integration and analysis of multiple project schedules;
- Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies and tools; with demonstrated experience or ability to develop and interpret project documentation (e.g. plans, complex correspondence, submissions, and reports) under limited direction;
- Experience and knowledge in coordinating and monitoring tasks, and performing basic schedule and cost estimations under limited guidance;
- Commitment to building up and obtaining competencies in project controls including scheduling, cost estimation, and ongoing professional development;
- Strong understanding of project life cycles and familiarity with the One Defence Capability System;
- Ability to maintain focus on quality to achieve outcomes while adhering to documented procedures;
- Ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders to manage expectations and integrate Fundamental Inputs to Capability elements to meet project milestones;
- Ability to undertake objective, systematic analysis and draw accurate conclusions based on evidence;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to identify risks and opportunities to address challenges encountered during project execution;
- Strong acumen in business and commercial; and
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
