As the Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Officer, you’ll play a key role in developing and executing effective communication strategies that ensure transparent and consistent messaging across all platforms. Your efforts will support the sustainable development and long-term success of YEC projects by fostering clear and inclusive communication.
Reporting to the Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Manager, this role plays a critical part in ensuring all internal and external communications consistently reflect YEC’s brand identity, reinforcing our core values, raising our profile, and enhancing brand recognition and awareness across all platforms.
This role is all about crafting compelling messages, coordinating impactful initiatives, and ensuring our communications align with our values and obligations. From engaging with various stakeholders to tracking stakeholder engagement and supporting community partnerships—you’ll be right at the heart of it.
About Us
Yindjibarndi Energy Corporation (YEC) is a partnership between Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation (YAC) and international renewable energy company, ACEN Corporation (ACEN). Representing one of the largest Indigenous-led renewable energy initiatives in Australia, YEC will see the Yindjibarndi people and ACEN work together to develop wind, solar, and renewable energy storage projects on Yindjibarndi Ngurra (country) – an area covering approximately 13,000 km2 within the Yindjibarndi Native Title Determination Areas in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The partnership agreement between the Yindjibarndi and ACEN includes principles ensuring Yindjibarndi approval of all proposed project sites on Yindjibarndi Ngurra, Yindjibarndi equity participation of 25% - 50% in all constructed projects, preferred contracting for Yindjibarndi-owned businesses, and training and employment opportunities for Yindjibarndi people.
ACEN is the listed energy platform of the Ayala Group. The company has ~5,300 MW of capacity in the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, USA and Australia. The company’s renewable share of capacity is at 87%, among the highest in the region. ACEN Australia is the platform representing ACEN’s renewable energy assets in Australia. It includes several solar, wind, battery and pumped hydro projects across New South Wales, Tasmania, Victoria and South Australia in development and construction.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Manager, you will be responsible for:
Assist in the development of engaging communication content for a variety of tools and channels including social media and website platforms, newsletters, employee intranet, presentations and media releases.
Assist in the development of up-to-date project information materials, including information sheets, posters, flyers and presentations.
Assist with planning and delivering stakeholder engagement activities to support government planning approvals and construction activities.
Support YEC’s participation in industry, government and community events and conferences.
Maintain records and documentation related to stakeholder engagement activities.
Track and report on community and stakeholder sentiment through traditional and social media monitoring.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity.
Monitor company contact points and respond to enquiries.
Assist in the collation of data required for sustainability reporting.
Maintain photo and video library, including the facilitation of photo and video shoots.
Essential criteria:
Tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, social impact, community engagement or related field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Highly organised and self-motivated with excellent time management skills
Strong research, information gathering, analysis and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in using digital communication tools and platforms.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
Professional, ethical, tolerant/welcoming of diversity, self-motivated and aligned with YEC’s values
Desirable criteria:
Proficiency in using marketing tools and software such as email marketing, and content management systems
Proficient in the use of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Canva.
Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining relationships with diverse community members and stakeholders.
Previous experience in developing and implementing communication strategies that include creating engaging content for various platforms.
A valid driver’s license is strongly desirable.
