If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Regional Engagement Officer focused on engaging with paramedics and student paramedics. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can drive engagement and attract new members to the College.
About the College
The Australasian College of Paramedicine (the College) is the peak professional association for paramedics in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. The College represents and supports over 10,000 paramedics and student paramedics. The College champions the role of paramedics in emergency, urgent and primary care, and we are committed to enhancing person-centred care for the community.
About the role
The College is looking for a Regional Engagement Officer to enhance our member and profession engagement and service delivery, and achieve strong membership growth across a defined region (VIC/SA/TAS).
This is a great opportunity for a relationship expert with strong engagement and communication skills to make this role their own, working with our Member Engagement Manager and Marketing and Communications Manager to deliver a range of programs, services, events and communications for members.
The role requires relationship building experience with a focus on growing engagement and membership sales, ideally in the not-for-profit / member association space.
Role detail
This is a full-time role offered on 12 month contract with opportunity to extend.
The College has a remote-based, work from home workforce, meaning the Regional Engagement Officer will work from their own home office.
The College operates on a 4 Day Work Week.
The role has a travel requirement of approximately 50%, with the majority being within greater Melbourne, but regular trips to regional Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania requiring overnight and multi-night stays is part of the role.
Key Accountabilities
Drive strong engagement with College offerings and recruitment of members by attending, presenting and speaking with paramedics and students about the College at:
ambulance service events, stations and hospitals
university events, lectures and society activities
other events and activities within the region
Build strong relationships and act as a liaison with ambulance services induction, education and operational teams, and university deans, program leads and lecturers to ensure the College is a trusted partner and considered as part of all activities.
Work with the Member Engagement Manager and the Marketing and Communication Manager to deliver effective communications, implement member recruitment and retention strategies and campaigns for the region.
Organise, coordinate and deliver local and regional events, including coordinating online events from the region, with presenters, volunteer organisers and College staff.
Assist in producing quality written, visual and digital material that connects with members and target audience, boosting engagement and brand awareness.

Selection criteria
Essential:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in relationship building roles, with ability to confidently engage and relate to a wide range of people from university students through to experienced professionals.
Demonstrated experience in customer engagement or program delivery, preferably in a membership or not-for-profit organisation.
Demonstrated experience and ability to communicate, present and speak publicly to potential members / customers, influencing behaviour and action.
Able to manage event delivery and coordination, including online events, and multi-task across multiple event projects simultaneously.
Self-motivated, pro-active and results orientated.
Desirable:
Health system and health profession experience or knowledge is considered a bonus.
Digital marketing or communications experience.
Experience working with volunteers and/or in a Not for Profit membership environment.
Strong to desire to grow the paramedic community of practice and increase the professional visibility within the wider health sector.
