About Us:

Greenlands Equipment is a leading provider of mine water management solutions, specialising in dewatering, pipelines, borefield infrastructure, and heavy industrial equipment servicing. We seek a qualified Mechanical Fitter with extensive experience in site-based maintenance, large-scale breakdown repairs, and mining equipment overhauls.

Role Description – Tasks Overview:

· Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications to determine materials, assembly methods, and operational processes.

· Fitting, assembling, maintaining, and repairing heavy mining equipment, including:

o Conveyor systems

o Crushers

o Gearboxes

o Pumps

o Motors

o Hydraulic and pneumatic components

· Conducting routine maintenance, breakdown repairs, and major shutdown overhauls on mining equipment.

· Performing bucket wheel, pulley, and bearing change-outs, including laser alignment and backlash measurement.

· Diagnosing mechanical faults and troubleshooting repairs on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

· Using precision measuring instruments to ensure correct fitment and tolerances.

· Welding and fabrication tasks as required.

· Ensuring compliance with strict workplace safety standards, including lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

General:

Ability to work independently and within a team, ensuring minimal equipment downtime and operational efficiency.

Specific:

· Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (or equivalent qualification).

· Recognised trade certification as a Mechanical Fitter

· High competency in precision alignment, backlash adjustment, and laser measuring tools.

· Extensive experience (5+ years) in heavy industrial and mining mechanical maintenance, specifically on: Bucket wheels, stackers, crushers, DMS washing plants, conveyor belts, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

· Proven ability to work on major breakdown repairs in high-pressure environments.

· White Card (Construction Induction) required.

· Confined Space & Working at Heights certification (preferred).
