Havcon Engineering is a metal fabrication company located in Harvey Western Australia. We provide metal fabrication and shut down services to local industries, including the mining sector.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Workshop Fabrication Estimator to join our growing team.

Reporting to the Managing Director, this full-time position is responsible for estimating projects of varying scope and sizes, as well as onsite measurement, project management & liaising with clients. We are looking for a person with a ‘can do’ positive attitude, who displays a high level of initiative and can start as soon as possible.

Selection Criteria

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:

Boilermaker / welder trade qualification.

Minimum 5 years’ experience estimating for a medium to large sized metal fabrication workshop.

Have a considerable amount of experience in plate, structural fabrication, pipe spooling, fixed & mobile plant.

Project management experience preferred.

Understanding and ability to complete material procurement for awarded works.

Sound working knowledge of estimating spreadsheets or information management systems.

Experience with building and maintaining key business relationships with existing and new clients, with the aim of developing new business.

Skills, Abilities, Personal Attributes:

Strong work ethic and ability to work unsupervised.

Full Australian work rights.

A keen eye for detail to review and accurately interpret data from drawings (engineering or shop detail drawings) to assemble documentation for quoting.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with clients, suppliers, and work colleagues.

Competitive nature who loves "the thrill of the chase".
