The Role

• Ensure contracts are watertight and claims are aligned with project entitlements
• Be a key point of contact for the CA’s to advise on difficult or complex contractual issues
• Split time between office and sites – providing high-level mentoring and coaching to CA’s as required
• Build strong relationships within the Commercial & SLT
• Review site commercial performance, including cashflows, budgets, and reporting
• Manage scope gaps across stages and prevent risk replication across projects
• Coach teams through procurement, notices, and reporting expectations
• Support CA onboarding, software training, and compliance uplift
• Attend commercial reviews and provide visibility to senior leadership

The Candidate

• 10+ years in construction commercial roles, with Contractor side contract knowledge
• Strong understanding of alternative procurement strategies and complex scopes
• Ability to lead without dominating - guide CAs and PMs to make better decisions
• Confident reviewing and challenging cost data, registers, and claims
• Natural passion and interest in contractual complexities & high-level problem solving
• High commercial acumen and ability to manage risk across multiple sites
• Personable, proactive, and commercially switched-on
