About the role

Milli Build is seeking a highly skilled Leading Hand Carpenter/site supervisor. We are a small architectural building company and have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate. You will play a crucial role in the execution of a detailed build from beginning to end. This is an "on the tools" position that would suit a great carpenter who's motivated to develop their skills in architectural construction and begin the transition into supervision.

What you'll be doing

Leading and performing the carpentry aspect of the build, making sure details are executed and work flow is efficient

Liaise with the project manager and other tradespeople to coordinate activities and resolve any issues that may arise

Mentoring and training a junior carpenter, sharing your expertise and best practices

Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations

Contribute to the continuous improvement of workflows and processes within the building team

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years' experience as a qualified carpenter in residential construction. Architectural construction experience is preferred.

Leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to effectively manage people

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail

Experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications (this can be developed within the role)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with other tradespeople
