Responsibilities:

Expertly prepare, cook, and present a wide variety of authentic Indian dishes, using both traditional and modern culinary techniques to deliver exceptional taste and quality

Creatively develop and refine new recipes, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends while preserving the rich, traditional flavours of Indian cuisine

Regularly evaluate and update the menu to introduce innovative dishes that cater to diverse customer preferences and dietary needs

Uphold the highest standards of food hygiene, safety, and sanitation throughout all stages of food preparation and service, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations

Conduct regular quality checks to ensure all dishes meet the restaurant’s standards for taste, presentation, and portion size

Efficiently manage kitchen inventory by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and ensuring the freshness and proper storage of all ingredients

Implement effective stock rotation practices to minimize waste and maximize the use of resources

Lead and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive working environment that encourages teamwork, skill development, and open communication

Work closely with team members to maintain an organised, clean, and efficient workspace, ensuring smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods

Qualifications and Work Experience

• Completion of a relevant Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma in Hospitality Management, or at least three years of relevant work experience as a Chef.

• Ability to perform well in a fast-paced kitchen environment

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

• Strong attention to detail and a creative approach to cooking
