Beachway Motel & Restaurant, located in the scenic coastal town of Ulverstone, Tasmania, is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our dynamic team.

We are offering a full-time position for a minimum period of two years, with the potential to extend based on performance and business needs.

Applicants must possess:

• A Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or higher), and

• At least one year of relevant experience in a similar role

Key Responsibilities include :

• Recruiting, training, and supervising kitchen staff, including cooks and kitchen hands

• Coordinating and overseeing daily food preparation and cooking activities

• Developing and adjusting recipes and menus while analysing food, labour, and overhead costs to determine pricing

• Inspecting raw ingredients and cooked dishes to ensure quality and consistency

• Estimating quantities and costs of food and supplies; managing inventory and ordering stock as needed

• Preparing and cooking a wide range of dishes, including for special functions and events

• Ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards

• Managing kitchen equipment maintenance and coordinating repairs and purchases

• Providing guidance on food preparation, presentation, garnishing, and cooking techniques

• Be capable of working well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen

• Be flexible with working hours, including weekends and holidays

What we offer:

• A competitive salary between $70,000 and $75,000 per annum (excluding super), based on experience and skills

• A full-time position with a minimum two-year contract, with the possibility of extension
