Blue Eye Seafood Restaurant in Hobart's waterfront is looking looking for an experienced chef who is able to work under pressure in a busy restaurant environment. As a key member of our team you will be responsible for menu development to showcase the best of Tasmanian seafood. This role is perfect for a culinary professional eager to innovate and contribute to an exciting dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct and participate in the preparation and cooking of food and maintain exceptional quality and presentation of all dishes.
Manage daily kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and high standards.
Plan new menu items, develop detailed recipes and costings.
Instruct other kitchen staff on preparation of menu items to ensure a consistency of standard.
Operate stock control, order supplies, manage and inspect deliveries, direct appropriate storage.
Supervise other staff to ensure good presentation and portion control of dishes and co-ordinate service with front-of-house staff.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Engage in continuous culinary education and training.
Who we're looking for:
Proven experience as a Chef, with at least 1+ years in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of seafood preparation and cooking techniques.
Exceptional organizational and leadership skills.
Passion for sustainability and using local ingredients.
Creative, with a keen eye for detail and innovation in cuisine.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to contribute innovative dishes of your own.
