Bendigo Heritage Attractions (BHA) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to take on the role of Corporate Services Support Officer.
Founded on one of the world’s richest goldfields, Bendigo is a vibrant regional city with a strong arts, culture and food scene. A not-for-profit organisation, BHA is responsible for the management of Bendigo’s leading heritage tourist attractions: Central Deborah Gold Mine, Bendigo Tramways, the Tramways Workshop and the Bendigo Joss House Temple.
The Corporate Services Support Officer is responsible for supporting the operational and compliance functions within the Corporate Services and Workshop & Maintenance department. The role plays a key part in promoting a strong safety culture while also delivering administrative and project support to ensure the efficient functioning of corporate services, including governance, safety and records management.
To be successful you must have:
· Provide administration support to the Corporate Services and Workshop & Maintenance departments.
· Coordinate and support WH&S activities, including the support of audit inspections, hazard identification, risk assessment and control planning, inspections, Health & Safety Committee functions, accident/incident investigations and WH&S plans.
· Monitor, follow up, and assist with the investigation of safety incidents to determine root causes and implement preventive measures in accordance with BHA Safety Policy and Procedures.
· Support the ongoing development, implementation, and monitoring of BHA’s Safety Management System (SMS) across Bendigo Heritage Attractions sites.
· Support compliance training and staff enquiries in fostering a safety-first culture.
· Maintain and update BHA’s safety management software (Hammertech).
· Support governance and quality improvement activities, including reviewing internal policies and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and best practices.
· Provide operational administration and project support across BHA departments.
· Prepare accurate, timely and comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders.
· Other duties within training and competencies as required.
Our ideal candidate will have:
1. The ability to provide excellent compliance and administrative support, whilst showing initiatives.
2. Capacity to enter data accurately and efficiently and a high level of knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite programs and maintain computerised information systems.
3. An ability to learn and understand corporate systems.
4. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
5. Good interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain effective and productive working relationships.
6. A consultative approach to resolve issues and work with a variety of stakeholders.
7. Demonstrated ability to support the develop and implementation of policies, systems, and operating procedures.
8. Experience working across a full range of WHS activities (including incident investigation and risk assessment practice) in a complex environment (desirable).
9. Certificate IV in Work, Health, and Safety (desirable).
10. Experience in similar role (minimum 2 years) (desirable).
Special Requirements:
Current Driver’s License (Manual Driver’s License desirable)
All Bendigo Heritage Attractions employees and volunteers are required to have a valid Working with Children Check.
