Commercial Lawyer - Baseline Clearance - $840 to $1330 daily rate inc super - initial 3 month secondment with possible extension - Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney locations available

The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Lawyer to provide legal advice and support to the Commercial Law team within a Commonwealth Department's Legal Division.

The Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have experience in advising on, drafting, reviewing and/or negotiating a range of commercial law matters relevant to the Commonwealth. The secondee will also be required to supervise the work of junior legal personnel in the team.

Experience in the following areas would be highly desirable:

procurement and tendering;

intellectual property;

commercial and corporate;

construction and infrastructure;

environment and planning;

grants; and

general and/or transactional property.

The Requirements

Experience working on a range of commercial law matters relevant to the Commonwealth relating to the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (Cth) would be highly regarded.

Legal qualifications, a Baseline clearance and a current practicing certificate is essential.
