delicious Thai food. Our menu is continually refreshed and updated by consultant chefs from famous hotels in

Thailand which we specially fly in for such purpose.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cook specialising in Thai cuisine to join our kitchen team. The

successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting authentic Thai dishes while ensuring

the highest standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene. The role also involves collaborating with the Chef in

developing seasonal menus and introducing new Thai dishes. The Cook must also work with speed and precision as to

push out food to customers as quickly and efficiently as possible while maintaining high standards of quality. The

position is responsible for much of the cooking and assembly of a restaurant’s dishes. It prepares, cleans, and

restocks its stations whenever necessary. The position may also at times supervise subordinates, and may delegate

certain tasks such as clearing or stocking a station.

Qualification and Experience:

 Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (preferred).

 Other additional relevant educational qualification is an advantage;

 Minimum 1 year's experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably in a Thai restaurant.

 Experience contributing to or designing menus is an advantage

 Deep understanding of Thai cooking methods, ingredients, and regional dishes.

Skills and abilities:

 Familiarity with food cost control and kitchen efficiency practices.

 Creative flair in food presentation and innovation.

 Strong knife skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

 Ability to follow instructions and collaborate with chefs.

 Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards in a commercial kitchen

 Deliver excellent customer service;

 Initiative and problem solving;

 Effective verbal communication;

 Ability to prioritise and manage own time;

 Ability to work cooperatively with other;

 Ability to train new cooks and kitchen staff; and

 Ability to adjust (work longer hours) and work under high pressure.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 Examine foodstuffs to ensure freshness, quality, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

 Prepare ingredients commonly used in Thai cooking such as lemongrass, galangal, Thai basil, kaffir lime,

tamarind, and fermented sauces.

 Regulate and monitor cooking temperatures of ovens, stoves, charcoal grills, and other equipment to ensure

proper cooking.

 Prepare and cook a range of Thai dishes including curries (e.g., green curry, massaman), stir-fried meals (e.g.,

pad Thai, pad see ew), soups (e.g., tom yum, tom kha), and street food items (e.g., Thai fried rice, satay

skewers).

 Season food during cooking using authentic Thai herbs, spices, and traditional techniques to maintain

signature flavour profiles.

 Portion food accurately and plate dishes with appropriate garnishes, ensuring authentic Thai presentation.

 Store food and ingredients in temperature-controlled facilities, following food safety and hygiene standards.

 Prepare meals that meet special dietary requirements, such as vegetarian, gluten-free, or allergen-sensitive

requests.

 Assist and collaborate with the Chef in creating new menu items, including providing input on traditional and

modern Thai dishes, portioning, and pricing.

 Participate in menu development by trialling new recipes, providing feedback on flavour, appearance, and

presentation, and adapting dishes based on ingredient availability.

 Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety

regulations.

 May assist in estimating food requirements and stock ordering.

 May help train and mentor junior kitchen staff and apprentices in Thai cooking practices and kitchen

protocols.
