The Role
As a Trainer at HERO, you'll be part of a skilled team of educators with diverse backgrounds in health and education. You'll receive dedicated support from a mentor while completing our Hero Excellence on-the-job training program, designed to ensure your success as an engaging and influential educator. With our rapid growth during the HERO rebrand, you'll deliver accredited training onsite across Victoria in a wide range of courses, including CPR, First Aid, and Fire Safety. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned professional or uni students studying Health or Education looking to gain experience and work with like-minded people.
The role will require you to
Deliver impactful training sessions: Facilitate exceptional training sessions in CPR, First Aid, and Fire Safety, making a real difference every day.
Assess and inspire learners: Evaluate learner skills and offer constructive and empowering feedback to boost their confidence and competence.
Maintain accurate records: Document learner progress with precision, ensuring all records are complete and up-to-date.
Stay current with industry trends: Keep up with the latest industry regulations and best practices to ensure our training remains top-notch.
Work autonomously: Manage your training sessions independently while adhering to HERO's delivery standards.
Collaborate with your team: Work with a passionate team to share ideas, enhance programs, and create a cohesive learning experience.
Participate in quality assurance: Contribute to quality assurance initiatives to maintain and elevate HERO’s high standards.
Travel to training sites: Deliver life-saving knowledge across Melbourne and Victoria, bringing our vital courses directly to the community.

Essential Skills and Experience
Background in Health or Education: Studying or a background in health or education is essential, providing the foundational knowledge and experience needed for effective training.
TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment: Hold or be willing to obtain the essential qualifications for delivering accredited training.
Strong Communication Skills: Clearly explaining concepts and instructions, making complex information accessible to learners of all backgrounds.
Organisational Skills: Effectively managing course materials, schedules, and learner progress.
Adaptability: Flexibility to tailor training approaches to different learning styles, needs, and schedule changes.
Patience and Empathy: Strong interpersonal skills to support and encourage learners.
Attention to Detail: Precision in assessing learner competencies and maintaining accurate records.
Public Speaking Confidence: Comfort and proficiency in speaking to groups, maintaining engagement, and managing classroom dynamics.
Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging first-aid techniques.

North East Suburbs-based Casual: 10+ hours
South East Suburbs-based Casual: 10+ hours
CBD-based Casual: 10+ hours
Vehicle & Technology Requirements
The casual role must have a personal laptop and internet access
You must have your own car; using public transport is not an option for this role.
