Job description:
The Opportunity:
The Senior Analyst, Financial Governance & Control is accountable for upholding the financial integrity and compliance of VHBA's financial operations. This position is essential in ensuring precise financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with financial policies and standards. Additionally, the role provides support for statutory reporting, external audit procedures, and financial assurance activities.
- Ensure that financial transactions are accurately recorded and comply with internal financial policies and public sector standards.
- Support external audits and financial information requests by coordinating data requests, this will also involve preparing paperwork and responding to enquires.
- Prepare and review financial statements, along with financial and regulatory returns and reports, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and government reporting requirements.
We are looking for:
- Great creative thinking and problem solving, a candidate who can independently and collaboratively adapt processes and drive outcomes.
- Expertise in financial accounting and reporting, statutory compliance, and financial control, along with proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools.
- Experience working in a government infrastructure or capital works environment is desirable.
