The Catholic Diocese of Lismore is seeking applications for a full-time or part-time Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Coordinator for our Pottsville service located in St Ambrose Primary School within the Tweed Coast region.
The successful candidate can elect a full-time or part-time role in the range of 28-38 hours, with hours of work (Monday to Friday only) negotiated with the successful candidate.

About the Coordinator role
The appointee will lead a team of Educators who provide this important OSHC service for our community's students, parents and schools. The service supports the families of up to 30 children at any time with before/after school care plus busy school holiday programs.
Key responsibilities
Lead the OSHC service located within the grounds of St Ambrose Primary School, Pottsville.
Support the families of up to 30 children at any time with before and after school care plus busy school holiday programs.
Build meaningful connections with the parent community, parish and school to ensure the service is represented, respected, promoted and growing.
Ensure safeguarding requirements are strictly adhered to and strong risk management practices are maintained. Ensuring appropriate safeguarding screening and recording processes are in place.
Responsible for the day to day running of the services, including child supervision, finance, recruitment and management of staff and program development.
Lead the delivery of stable and happy environment for children within the Catholic culture of our host schools.
Provide each child with a diverse range of outside school recreation and leisure play based activities. Continually review and enhance the services.
Dependent on experience, the appointee may be the Nominated Supervisor for the service.
This service is one of ten OSHC services that operate as part of the Catholic Diocese of Lismore. The appointee will be accountable to the School Principal and the Operations Manager, OSHC.
Selection Criteria
Relevant training or qualifications and experience as a supervisor or Responsible Person within an OSHC service or childcare centre.
A sound knowledge and understanding of the NQF, NQS and the School Age Learning Framework and Child Care Subsidy system.
Strong knowledge in safeguarding principles and demonstrated experience managing the safety of children in a care setting.
Demonstrated ability to bring collaborative leadership to the role, form relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders in a childcare context.
Sound computer, communication, time management and organisational skills.
The successful candidate must have or be able to obtain prior to commencement: Current First Aid Qualification specific for early childhood settings (HLTAID012/HLTAID004); Child Protection Training (CHCPRT025 or equivalent); NSW Working with Children Check clearance.
