About the Role:

This is a newly created, permanent full-time position to support a growing cosmetics brand sold at retail (and online) in Australia, and in some international countries. You’ll be responsible for planning, presenting, and delivering on retail brand plans that drive profitable & sustainable growth across key channels.

This role will require some interstate travel: visit account head offices, participate in trade fairs, retailer activations, etc.

Reporting into the National Business Manager, and with some support from the team Sales Executive, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Growing the brand in existing & new accounts across multiple channels, including Priceline, DDS, Grocery
  • Developing & delivering a customer strategy to ensure these accounts are aligned with the broader brand & company goals
  • Regularly analysing data, identifying & communicating insights & recommendations, and crafting compelling narratives for both internal & external stakeholders
  • Presenting your go-to-market commercial strategy at retailer reviews
  • Delivering on the brand’s targeted sales volumes, profit, & market share targets
  • Ensuring execution with excellence

Key activities include:

  • Manage day-to-day account activity
  • Build solid working relationships at all levels within your accounts
  • Conduct regular business reviews, plus semi-annual business strategy updates, with account buying teams to assess their needs, address concerns & provide solutions that meet their objectives
  • Together with the National Business Manager, develop & secure agreed-upon joint business plans with your accounts, as well as manage contract renewal negotiations & pricing discussions as required
  • Review & analysis of data to review customer & category performance in market; translate these into weekly reports to internal stakeholders on account performance, sales forecast & market insights
  • Prepare & deliver quarterly updates to shareholders, ensuring clear & transparent communication of in-market business performance
  • Identify incremental opportunities within existing accounts to maximise revenue generation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, marketing, creative & finance to ensure seamless delivery/services & exceptional customer experience
  • Manage trade spend
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, & competitor activities to proactively identify potential threats & opportunities

NOTE: We’re accepting applications of interest from candidates in both Melbourne and Sydney, with Melbourne preferred. If you are based in Sydney, you must be willing to travel to Melbourne head office for approximiately one week per month (more frequently during initial onboarding period), with reasonable travel expenses reimbursed.

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Must have: head-office account level management experience in Grocery, DDS, and/or Priceline
  • Retail account mgmt. experience in FMCG/related product categories, with cosmetics/beauty industry highly preferred
  • Analytical and data driven: be very comfortable using data to identify opportunities & create your commercial proposition
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and selling skills
  • Solid financial acumen: forecasting, promotional planning, & budget management, P&L mgmt. experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of retailer sell-thru data systems
  • Team player and positive “can do” attitude
  • Must be happy to work in a dog-friendly office (Melbourne)
