We have an exciting opportunity for a chef to join our team at the Geraldton Motor Inn (GMI) and Tarcoola Tavern which is located in the beautiful seaside town of Geraldton.

GMI is a growing establishment and are on the lookout for a reliable and hardworking person with a passion for cooking for an immediate start. The position offered is available either on a casual or full-time.

GMI holds 60 on-site hotel rooms, a tavern, a bar/bistro and a drive-through bottle shop. We are only a short walk or less than a 5 minute drive from the town centre and only 350 metres from the beautiful Tarcoola beach.

Duties include (but are NOT limited to):

• Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment

• Preparing ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)

• Cooking food in various utensils or grillers

• Preparing food and plating dishes

• Ensuring that food portions and food presentation meet company standards.

• Monitoring supplies and re-ordering stock as needed.

• Ensuring that cooking utensils are clean before each use.

• Cleaning and sterilizing food preparation areas.

• Assisting other cooks to ensure that food orders are completed in a timely manner.

• Efficiently resolving problems with customers’ orders.

• Ensuring that food health and safety regulations are followed.

The successful applicant should demonstrate high presentation skills and take pride in their work. The applicant will join an established team and participate in maintaining a clean and organised kitchen, while adhering to health and safety regulations.
