About the Role

King Somm is a neighbourhood bar and kitchen located in central Bayswater. Our menu is built around creative small plates and pizza that pair well with beer, wine and good times. We’re currently seeking a full-time chef or cook to join our tight-knit, passionate kitchen team, reporting directly to the Head Chef. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, works well under pressure, and is confident running multiple sections.

Responsibilities include;

Preparing and executing small plates on the larder and fryer section

Preparation and cooking of other menu items including for functions and events

Assisting with pizza making process from raw ingredients to the final product

Drive consistency and quality across all menu offerings

Assist in inventory management and stock control

Supervising junior kitchen staff and kitchen hands

Pack down, general cleaning and washing some dishes

Following Food Safety, Hygiene, OH&S guidelines and policies

Skills and experience;

A passion and drive for quality food and creating exceptional customer experiences

At least 2 years of strong experience as a cook or chef in a similar venue

Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and commercial compliance

High standards for presentation, consistency, and cleanliness
