The Role

As a member of the Sustainment Logistics Governance and Assurance section, you will be providing guidance to Contractor stock item owners (SIOs), planning oversight activities and conducting materiel and logistics related Sustainment tasks.

You will support the APS 6 Team lead in activities such as:

  • Inventory disposals approvals.
  • Compliance and assurance testing.
  • Liaison with and guidance to Submarine Enterprise Partner stock item owners (SIOs).
  • NAVALLOW and Ship Allowance List (SAL) queries.
  • You will have an understanding of and be able to interpret Defence Logistic Policy and Procedures and provide advice to stakeholders on the required outcomes.
  • You will have knowledge of Military Integrated Logistics Information System (MILIS) and/or the Defence Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) S4 HANA system and all defence logistics manuals.

About our Team

The Collins Submarine Program within the Naval Shipbuilding & Sustainment Group (NSSG) is responsible for the maintenance and programmed upgrade of Australia’s Collins Class submarines. The Program works in partnership with the Royal Australian Navy and Industry to deliver the strategic submarine capability to the nation. Our Ideal Candidate

We are seeking candidates with relevant experience and demonstrable knowledge in the materiel and logistics discipline.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Have relevant experience or demonstrable knowledge in Defence inventory management processes;
  • Have an understanding of relevant legislative frameworks and Defence's mission and policy requirements and be able to interpret and provide advice on these as they apply to the job role;
  • Be accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions to work through tasks and projects to meet deadlines;
  • Undertake research and analysis, conduct reviews and perform procedural work to achieve results;
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders (both internal and external) and subject matter experts to resolve logistics matters;
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Have exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy;
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Defence Behaviours.
