The Role
The EL 1 Certification and Assurance Program Manager is accountable for leading the Regional Maintenance Centre - West Technical Quality Assurance Team, managing allocated resources, setting work area priorities, managing workflows, developing strategies and evaluating business outcomes.
This position has management responsibilities and manages subordinate Technical Quality and Assurance positions within the Maintenance Planning and Assurance team in RMC-W.
Reporting to the Maintenance Demand Operations Manager (MDOM), duties include but not limited to:
- Accountable to provide experienced and accurate project and program monitoring and controlling advice and solutions for risks and opportunities.
- Responsible to develop project and program briefs, reports and documentation using a range of tools and techniques.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
- Motivate and mentor Maintenance Delivery team, aligning complementary skills and leverage resources in a manner that delivers results.
- Assess and evaluate planning and scheduling activities against critical factors and recommend continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of technical outputs.
- Manage assurance of the Regional Maintenance Provider – West to ensure Commonwealth maintenance is delivered to the required technical standards and quality.
About our Team
The team manages Governance and Assurance activities on tasked services including contractor deliverables by RMP-W.
The team ensures that all technical deliverables from RMP-W are in adherence and aligns to the contractual, Defence Seaworthiness Regulator (DSwR), Defence Seaworthiness Management System and Australian Navy Publication requirements to ensure the Navy vessel is maintained in a seaworthy state.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated a high level of knowledge and experience in performing the duties outlined in the Role section of this document.
The ideal candidate may demonstrate extensive managerial experience and/or substantial experience working in programs/projects.
