About the Role
Flinders University is seeking an experienced and strategic Project Manager to lead a complex university initiative, ensuring cohesion, role clarity and timely delivery of key performance indicators (KPIs).

The National Mental Health Pathways Practice Program Pilot aims to attract and retain allied health professionals to the mental health sector by providing supervised placement opportunities across a range of locations, including non-metropolitan regions, and the successful candidate will be responsible for driving project execution, managing budgets and timelines and coordinating the full range of activities required to meet project milestones.

This role requires strong reporting capabilities, within the University and also externally to stakeholders such as the Department of Health and Aged Care (DOHAC). The ideal candidate will bring experience in the higher education sector and a deep understanding of how to navigate and align objectives across colleges and disciplines.

Exceptional interpersonal and people management skills are essential. The Project Manager must be able to build strong relationships across disciplines, adapt their approach to suit different team dynamics, and foster a collaborative and high-performing environment. A flexible leadership style, combined with a focus on defined roles, accountability and outcomes, will be key to success in this role.

About You
As well as exceptional interpersonal and people management skills, the successful candidate should demonstrate the following key capabilities:

  • Extensive experience in project management or business development, including the ability to meet deliverables and timelines.
  • Extensive professional experience in relation to the operations and management of work-integrated learning programs including liaising with students, academic staff members and external bodies.
  • High-level of liaison and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders and the ability to work cooperatively and equitably with a diverse range of people.
  • Proven track record of thinking and planning strategically and managing complex projects to meet strategic plans.
  • Demonstrated experience in collecting and compiling data, interpreting information and providing strategic advice and detailed reports and recommendations.
