Permanent – Part-Time – 23 hours per week

This position is classified as a PACS Band 5 ($76,199 - 83,003 p.a. pro rata) under the City of Kwinana’s structured remuneration system.

Premium Recquatic Membership and 12.5% Superannuation.

An exciting opportunity is available for a Youth Officer to join the City of Kwinana’s superstar Community Engagement Team. Reporting to the Senior Team Leader – Youth, you will be responsible for initiating, developing, administering, and implementing the delivery of services that support young people in the City of Kwinana. This includes delivery and and evaluation of programs and activities aimed at young people aged 10 - 24 that increase, skills, resilience, and participation in the local community.

This will include assisting in the running of drop-in sessions at the Zone Youth Centre, ensuring appropriate use of the drop-in space and supports delivery of youth activities at external venues as required.

Please note: The ordinary hours of work for this position shall be worked up to within a ten (10) hour spread between commencement and completion on any shift Monday to Sunday. Days of work may be subject to change due to operational requirements.

About You:
1. Previous experience in youth program planning, development and delivery, youth centre drop-in supervision, or a similar role.
2. Sound working knowledge of youth issues, youth work practices, and youth and community development principles.
3. Sound analytical, report writing, data collection and computer literacy skills.
4. Well-developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
5. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
6. Proven ability to work effectively independently.
7. Tertiary qualification in youth work or similar, or significant experience in a related field.
8. Driver’s Licence and willingness to obtain Police Clearance, Working with Children Check, Provide First Aid Certificate and work after hours and weekends.
