About the role

This is a full-time role based in South-East of Brisbane CBD, you will be working for our client who are a Tier 3 commercial builder. As an HSE Advisor/Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety and environmental compliance of the company's construction projects. Your primary focus will be to provide expert guidance, coordinate safety initiatives, and foster a strong safety culture throughout the organisation.

What you'll be doing

Developing, implementing and monitoring comprehensive health, safety and environmental management systems and procedures

Conducting regular site inspections and audits to identify and mitigate risks

Providing training and support to project teams to enhance their understanding and application of safety protocols

Investigating incidents, accidents and near-misses, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence

Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental legislation, regulations and industry standards

Collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution

Maintaining detailed records and reporting on safety performance metrics

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in health and safety, environmental management or a related discipline

Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar HSE advisory or coordinator role, with a commercial builder in Queensland

Thorough understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation, regulations and best practices

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and educate others

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement practical solutions

Proficiency in using HSE management software and data analysis tools

Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and a proactive approach to safety
