Due to an expanding portfolio of awarded contracts, we are currently seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join our team.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager to join the team at Kuga Energy, a leading provider of commercial and utility-scale solar solutions. As the HSE Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining robust safety systems and processes to support Kuga's nationwide operations in the commercial and utility solar sectors. This is a full-time role based in Queensland.

What you'll be doing

Conduct site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and safety standards

Conduct weekly safety training meetings with all site staff via Teams to ensure continuous safety improvement, expand knowledge and/or calibrate Site Managers on safety standards

Lead the investigation of incidents and near-misses, implementing corrective actions

Issue HSE alerts when required

Develop, implement and continuously improve HSE management systems, policies and procedures

Monitor and report on HSE performance, identifying areas for improvements

Lead the investigation of incidents and near-misses, implementing corrective actions

Deliver tailored HSE training and education programs for all Kuga employees

Collaborate with project teams to incorporate best-practice HSE considerations into all project planning and delivery

Champion a positive safety culture and actively promote health and wellbeing initiatives

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety, or a related discipline

Minimum 3 years' experience in a HSE role, ideally within the construction, utilities or renewable energy sectors

Thorough understanding of WHS legislation, standards and best practices

Proven track record in developing and implementing effective HSE management systems

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Ability to influence and drive a positive safety culture

Passion for workplace health and safety and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement
