Senior Records Management Advisor - NSW Government

  • Location: Sydney CBD + WFH (hybrid)
  • Pay Rate: $600 - $700 per day + Super
  • Assignment Length: 3 months with potential to extend
  • Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week

About the Role

You’ll play a key role in establishing compliance and procedural documentation that enables the compliant digitisation and disposal of hardcopy records in line with State Records NSW guidelines. This initiative is aimed at reducing storage costs and establishing an efficient records management framework for future in-house digitisation activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and implement compliance and procedural documentation to support digitisation initiatives
  • Ensure alignment with the State Records Act and guidance including GA45
  • Identify digitisation priorities using hardcopy records datasets
  • Collaborate with internal teams and provide guidance on best practices
  • Support and guide a Records Officer responsible for operational aspects
  • Manage manual handling tasks such as reviewing, sorting, and scanning physical files

About You

  • Extensive experience in hardcopy records digitisation initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of the State Records Act and related disposal instruments (e.g., GA45)
  • Proven ability to create clear, practical documentation and internal policies
  • Proficiency with digitisation tools (e.g., AbbyFineReader, EzeScan) and EDRMS systems (e.g., Objective, TRIM)
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort handling large records datasets
  • Physically capable of manual handling of archival boxes and files
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
