Talenza has partnered with one of Australia's leading technology and telecommunication brands to source a Payroll Senior Advisor. This role is critical in ensuring compliance, governance, and excellence in payroll operations while leading key payroll initiatives and system enhancements. This role will lead complex payroll matters, manage risk, ensure audit readiness, and play a central role in the delivery of payroll projects, including remediation programs and system upgrades.

Role Title: Senior Advisor

Contract Length: 24 Months.

Daily Pay: $550 - $615 + Super per day.

Location: Macquarie Park (2133). Office (3 days per week is required) and WFH Hybrid (2 days per week).

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance with tax legislation, superannuation, and contractual obligations.
• Execute end-to-end payroll processing with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
• Support payroll projects, including remediation initiatives, to drive process improvements and operational excellence.
• Support and drive key payroll initiatives, including process optimisation, remediation projects, and system upgrades to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.
• Evaluate existing payroll processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement innovative solutions to streamline operations and improve overall payroll performance.
• Monitor legislative changes, review payroll policies, and implement best practices to maintain compliance with employment regulations and industrial instruments.
• Lead resolution of complex payroll issues, resolving disputes and ensuring governance standards are met.
• Oversee payroll audits, reconciliations, and risk assessments, proactively attend to compliance risks.
• Validate and authorise payroll master data updates, ensuring full accuracy and compliance.
• Drive continuous improvements in payroll accuracy, automation, and reporting.

Essential Criteria:

• Minimum 5 years managing high-volume, in-house payroll for a large organisation.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Australian payroll, with strong knowledge of relevant legislation including taxation, superannuation, state revenue, and reporting.
• Proven ability to interpret and apply Australian Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience in Payroll governance and compliance.
• Capability to lead Process improvements.
• Solid experience on application of tax and legislative rules in Payroll.
• A high ability to lead and initiate.
