About the role

Mostyn Street Clinic, a respected healthcare provider in Castlemaine is seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join their staff on a part-time 12-month contract. As part of the Practice Nursing team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the clinic's General Practitioners and ensuring high-quality patient care.

The role

Mostyn Street Clinic is looking for an experienced Practice Nurse, initially for a 12-month contracted position, up to 30 hours per week. Required days would be Monday and Friday with other days/hours negotiable. The role would report to the Clinical Lead (Nursing) and the Practice Manager. Flexible start available with appropriate training provided.

What you'll be doing

Providing nursing care and support to patients, including administering immunisations, dressing wounds, and other clinical tasks

Conducting health assessments, chronic disease management and patient education as part of nurse-led clinics.

Assisting the GPs with various medical procedures and examinations

Maintaining and organising medical supplies and equipment

Coordinating patient follow-ups and managing appointment schedules

Communicating effectively with patients, their families, and the broader healthcare team

Strictly adhering to cold-chain management, infection control and equipment processing

Triaging patients in-person and by phone as per policy

Delivering high quality patient care including appropriate response to clinical emergencies

Adhering to all relevant healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures

What we're looking for

Registered Nurse (Division 1) with a current AHPRA registration

Demonstrated experience in a general practice or primary healthcare setting

Immunisation qualification preferred

Strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team

Proficient in the use of medical software and technology

A passion for continuous learning and professional development
