Our colleges are Co-Ed Independent Special Assistance schools for young people who have disengaged from mainstream schooling. Our stunning, purpose built facilities are located at Robina on the Gold Coast and Meadowbrook in Logan.

We are currently seeking a motivated Risk and Compliance Officer to assist the Risk and Compliance Manager in the delivery of safety, risk, and compliance initiatives across the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional looking to contribute meaningfully to a high-performing, values-driven organisation.
This role is a permanent, part time position, working 41 weeks per year (School Term Time). The role can be based at Ohana College in Meadowbrook or at our corporate offices based in Varsity Lakes on the Gold Coast. This role will require travel between locations.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will assist the Risk and Compliance Manager to:
· Support the implementation of the Colleges’ safety, risk, and compliance frameworks.
· Maintain and update operational risk registers.
· Assist with the day-to-day use and upkeep of the risk and compliance software, including the policy delivery system.
· Coordinate the administration and maintenance of the incident reporting framework to ensure it supports continuous improvement.
· Contribute to the preparation of risk and compliance reports for leadership and Board meetings.
· Assist with policy and procedure governance, including document control and version management.
· Support the planning of events from a risk and safety perspective through the Events Management Program.
· Help facilitate risk assessments across departments.
· Assist in training staff in the use of compliance and incident reporting systems.
· Monitor and report on compliance with Non-State Schools Accreditation Board (NSSAB) standards and relevant laws.
· Assist in the coordination and implementation of Work Health and Safety (WHS) Management Systems in collaboration with College leaders.
Track and report key legislative and regulatory changes that impact the Colleges’ policies or compliance obligations.
Key Selection Criteria
· Qualifications or progress toward a degree or diploma in Risk Management, Compliance, WHS or related field.
· Experience or interest in compliance, quality systems, or WHS in an education or similar regulated environment.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
· Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work collaboratively with others.
