About the role:

We are seeking a dedicated and strategic Compliance and Assurance Manager to take ownership of our compliance and assurance frameworks. In this role, you’ll lead initiatives that ensure our operations meet regulatory standards, foster ethical conduct, and build internal capabilities for transparency, policy management, and continuous improvement.

From public interest disclosures to high-risk complaint investigations, you’ll champion a culture of accountability and integrity, supporting executive and board assurance while embedding fit-for-purpose policy and regulatory practices.

Key responsibilities:

Develop and lead compliance and assurance frameworks aligned to legislation and best practice.

Manage complaints, PIDs, and privacy investigations.

Provide strategic advice on regulatory and compliance risks to executives and board stakeholders.

Monitor and report on compliance trends, emerging risks, and assurance activities.

Coordinate responses under GIPAA and support the development of MMP’s Annual Report.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives in compliance systems and policy frameworks.

Essential requirements:

Tertiary qualifications in law or other relevant fields such as public administration (NSW practicing certificate desirable).

Minimum 8 years' experience in public sector compliance, policy, or legal roles.

Excellent analytical, report-writing, and problem-solving skills.

High-level integrity, confidentiality, and ethical judgment in sensitive matters

Demonstrated experience in:

Investigating complaints, public interest disclosures, and privacy breaches.

Developing and implementing compliance and assurance programs.

Providing legislative and regulatory advice across multiple frameworks.

Engaging with executive leaders, regulators, and external investigators.
