We’re on the lookout for an experienced and proactive WHS & EMS Coordinator to join a well-established operation within the poultry processing industry. This full-time position plays a key role in maintaining a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible site, while supporting continuous improvement in safety culture and systems.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Site Operations Manager and working closely with the National WHS Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for implementing and maintaining safety and environmental systems across a busy poultry processing site. This includes managing internal audits, supporting HSR committees, guiding contractor compliance, and liaising with key stakeholders and regulatory authorities.

This is a Monday to Friday role, with the occasional Saturday required. You’ll need to be flexible with start times, as some early mornings may be necessary to conduct safety drills and site inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and support the implementation of WHS and EMS frameworks across the site
• Conduct internal audits, ensure corrective actions are followed up, and support external audit readiness
• Drive compliance with environmental and workplace safety legislation
• Lead and participate in HSR and WHS committee meetings
• Monitor contractor safety and site-wide safety performance
• Collaborate with operational and QA teams to align WHS and food safety goals
• Provide timely and accurate reporting on incidents, trends, and risk mitigation strategies

What We’re Looking For:

• A current WHS qualification (Cert IV or higher) – essential
• Demonstrated experience in a WHS and/or EMS role, ideally in the food or poultry industry
• Solid understanding of WHS legislation, Australian Standards (AS4801 / ISO 45001), HACCP, and GMP
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills
• Ability to conduct thorough incident investigations and risk assessments
• High attention to detail, with sound organisational and time management abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting systems
