About the Role:

Our client is seeking a motivated and skilled SAP Business Objects Developer to join their data and analytics team. In this role, you will play a key part in transforming raw data into reliable, actionable insights that support critical financial decision-making. You’ll work with various ETL tools and financial datasets to help us enhance data quality and reporting efficiency across the department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and maintain ETL processes using SAP Business Objects Data Services (BODS) or similar platforms (experience with tools like Alteryx considered an asset).
• Write and optimise SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from various sources.
• Perform data validation and implement quality checks to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with finance and business teams to understand requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
• Build reports and data workflows using finance-related datasets such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and purchase orders.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Proven ability to learn and apply ETL tools, particularly SAP BODS (or comparable tools like Alteryx).
• Solid understanding of SQL and experience writing queries to retrieve and analyse data.
• Awareness of data quality standards and techniques for validating large datasets.
• A foundational understanding of finance processes and data.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice to have:

• Prior experience working in a finance or Australian Government environment.
• Familiarity with data governance or data warehousing principles.
