Southern Suburbs Mobile Preschool - Southern Youth and Family Services

Community based non-Government agency in the Illawarra. Seeking an Educator 30 hours (dependent on funding) and casuals, to work in a preschool environment for children 3-5 years old's.

Essential Criteria:

Demonstrated commitment to high ethical practices and positive approach to work (eg commitment hardworking, flexible, ability to work under pressure and meet timelines, initiative, energy, enthusiasm) including ability to work in accordance with the Organisation’s philosophy and work culture.

Diploma of Children’s Services or currently a Certificate III working towards a Diploma.

Working with Children Check (NSW) clearance number, and National Police Check Certificate – this is an employment requirement for all Southern Youth and Family Services employees. If you do not currently have this, you must be eligible to apply prior to appointment.

Current First Aid Certificate, Asthma certificate and Anaphylaxis certificate or working towards.

Demonstrate an awareness of and commitment to child safety and ability to comply with the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998.

Ability to work in a team and independently, and be able to work flexible hours.

Have driver’s licence, access to own registered, comprehensively insured vehicle while on duty and telephone.

Willingness to participate in general organisational activities including household, maintenance, office duties etc.

Knowledge of, commitment to and experience in meeting the National Quality Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework.

Experience in similar role, community services and understanding of disadvantaged groups.

A commitment to inclusive practice and recognition of the value diversity.

Initiative and capacity to work with minimal supervision.

Effective time management skills flexibility and ability to multi-task.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Willingness to continue learning and support current theory and practice in Early Childhood.

Willingness to be responsible person on site at times.

CONDITIONS: Dependent on position, experience and qualifications, hourly rate $32.00-$32.97 and casual hourly rate from $33.96
