About the role

Prosper Care and Support is seeking multiple enthusiastic and compassionate Female Disability Support Workers to join our team in North Melbourne, VIC. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing personalised care and assistance to individuals with disabilities, helping them to live independently and thrive in their daily lives. This is a casual position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients.

What you'll be doing

Assisting clients with their daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks

Facilitating social and recreational activities to promote client wellbeing and community engagement

Advocating for client rights and ensuring their needs are met in a safe and supportive environment

Collaborating with the broader care team to develop and implement tailored support plans

Maintaining accurate client records and documentation

Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements

What we're looking for

A Certificate III or IV in Disability Support, or a related field

Mental health certificate

Medication training

PEG experience

Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in a community-based or in-home setting

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with clients and their families

A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and a commitment to promoting their independence and inclusion

Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify and respond to client needs

A current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle (desirable)
