Capital Football is the governing body for football in the ACT, responsible for overseeing competitions, representative teams, and the growth of the sport across the region. Capital Football is a member of Football Australia.

We are searching for a self-motivated, highly organised individual who can support the effective coordination of match officials and contribute to the smooth operation of refereeing across our region.

You’ll be joining a structured, friendly, and supportive team that prioritizes collaboration and personal development. Our offices are located in Deakin, Canberra.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Capital Football is seeking an organised and motivated individual to join our team as the Appointments & Operations Officer. This key role supports the smooth delivery of football competitions by coordinating match official appointments and assisting with a range of administrative and operational tasks within the Referees Department.

Working closely with staff, volunteers, and match officials, you'll play a vital part in scheduling appointments, supporting training and events, managing enquiries, and helping deliver competitions across Canberra and surrounding regions. Your strong communication and planning skills will ensure timely responses, accurate record-keeping, and a positive experience for our match officials and stakeholders.

This role focuses on:

Coordinate match official appointments across Capital Football competitions to ensure smooth matchday operations.

Support the administration and logistics of the Referees Department, including training, events, and communications.

Liaise with referees, staff, and stakeholders to manage enquiries, resolve issues, and contribute to a positive officiating environment.

ABOUT YOU

You hold, or be able to gain, an ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card.

Has strong organisational skills and can manage competing deadlines with confidence and attention to detail.

Communicates clearly and professionally, with the ability to build positive relationships across a wide range of people.

Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing priorities with a calm, solutions-focused mindset.

Is comfortable using digital systems, databases, and Microsoft Office tools to manage information and support daily operations.

Works well independently but thrives in a collaborative, team-focused culture.

Is reliable, approachable, and committed to delivering a great experience for volunteers and match officials.

Has a general understanding of football or community sport, with an interest in how competitions and officiating are delivered.
