We’re looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to identify, pursue and convert new opportunities within the public sector.
About the Role
This is a pure new business role focused on strategic growth across our Assurance Learning portfolio. You'll be responsible for developing new client relationships in the public sector, driving tailored training solutions that support compliance, governance and risk capability uplift.
You'll report to the Sales Manager and work closely with a national team of high-performing professionals. This is your opportunity to lead targeted sales strategy, own your pipeline, and close high-value deals.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new public sector clients through strategic targeting and outbound prospecting
Develop and execute territory-based sales strategies to meet revenue targets
Establish and maintain relationships with key government and public sector decision-makers
Prepare and deliver proposals, quotes and tender responses
Maintain accurate pipeline data in Salesforce and contribute to regular reporting
Conduct market research and stay ahead of sector trends to identify new opportunities
Collaborate with internal teams to deliver a seamless client experience
Skills and Experience:
You’re a confident and experienced sales professional who thrives in a strategic, high-stakes environment. You know how to win over public sector clients and build enduring partnerships.
What you’ll bring:
10+ years of business development or B2B sales experience
Extensive experience selling to government organisations is a MUST
Strong track record of exceeding sales quotas, ideally in the public sector
Deep understanding of public sector procurement and decision-making processes
Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Experience responding to RFPs/tenders (highly desirable)
Self-starter with strong time management and reporting discipline
CRM experience (Salesforce preferred)
Bachelor’s degree or relevant industry experience
