Boat Licence Queensland is the leading and accredited QLD Boat Training Organisation (BTO) dedicated to promoting safe and responsible boating practices. We offer comprehensive BoatSafe™ training programs for all levels, from novice boaters to experienced mariners, ensuring our students gain the skills and confidence needed to navigate Australian waterways safely. We are excited to announce that we have full or part time positions for BTPs in our new outlet in Brisbane.

Job Description:

We are seeking passionate Boat Training Providers (BTPs) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in marine operations, excellent instructional skills, and a commitment to safety and education. As a Boat Training Provider (BTP), you will be responsible for delivering BoatSafe™ training programs, conducting practical and theoretical sessions, and ensuring our students achieve their certification goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive BoatSafe™ MSQ courses, including practical on-water training and assessments, classroom written CAT tests. Theory is conducted Online only.

Ensure all training activities comply with safety regulations and company standards.

Work with a small team to provide professional, friendly and high quality training.

Launch, operate, and complete simple maintenance on PWCs and Training Vessels, based in a marina setting. No trailers and daily boat ramp launching required.

Conduct safety drills and demonstrate the proper use of safety equipment.

Maintain accurate records of student progress and certification.

Stay current with industry trends, safety protocols, and regulatory changes.

Must have Minimum Qualifications:

Must be Australian permanent resident or have a permanent work visa.

Available to start August/Sep 2025

Aged 18 plus through to older members of the workforce. However, you must be physically fit enough to operate small boats and jets skis in all types of Queensland weather and confined water conditions.

Experience in commercial or recreational marine operations. Driving small commercial or recreational boats and PWCs. Or SLA IRB and Rescue PWC.

Holds an Australian RMDL Boat Licence or equivalent. Hold or can get Australian PWCL Jet Ski Licence or equivalent.

Must hold an Australian Cert 4 or higher in student education or teaching. or VET qualification - TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent to TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Holds or can get quickly Marine Coxswain NC2 near coastal or higher marine qualification.

Current First Aid and CPR certification.

Working with children Blue Card.

No criminal record.

Proven instructional skills with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds, and cultures.

Strong commitment to marine safety and regulatory compliance.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to assess individual learning needs LLN and adapt training methods accordingly.
