Location: Ultimo, Sydney (Hybrid work model available)
Employment Type: Part-time (minimum 28 hours/week), 12-month contract with potential to extend
Award & Remuneration: SCHADS Award Level 6 + superannuation + 17.5% leave loading (paid during annual leave)
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Organisational Context

Network of Community Activities is the peak body for Out-of-School-Hours Care in New South Wales. As a not-for-profit and Registered Training Organisation, we are dedicated to advocating for high-quality, inclusive programs for children aged 5–14. Our mission is to support educators through sector-specific training, resources, and representation, thereby building a stronger future for school-age care.

Position Purpose

The Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating professional development programs tailored to Out-of-School-Hours (OOSH) educators and managers across New South Wales. This role plays a pivotal part in enhancing the quality of OOSH services by building sector capacity through innovative and responsive training initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Training Design and Delivery

Develop and facilitate engaging professional learning programs, including webinars, workshops, online courses, and conferences.

Create comprehensive training materials such as facilitator guides, participant workbooks, and evaluation tools.

Ensure all training content aligns with adult learning principles and sector-specific requirements.

2. Digital Learning Management

Oversee the administration and continuous improvement of digital learning platforms, specifically GoTo and Job Ready.

Curate and manage online learning resources to ensure accessibility and relevance.

Monitor and analyze user engagement data to inform enhancements to digital learning offerings.

3. Team Leadership and Collaboration

Lead and mentor a team of part-time trainers and contractors, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Coordinate with subject matter experts, sector members, and government bodies to ensure training programs meet current and emerging needs.

Represent the organization in sector forums and stakeholder meetings as required.

4. Compliance and Reporting

Maintain accurate records of training activities, participant progress, and feedback.

Prepare detailed reports for the CEO and Board, highlighting training outcomes and areas for improvement.

Ensure all training programs comply with Registered Training Organisation (RTO) standards and regulatory requirements.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent).

Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering adult education programs.

Proficiency in managing Learning Management Systems (LMS), particularly GoTo and Job Ready.

Strong understanding of RTO compliance requirements and vocational education standards.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.

Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Desirable:

Experience in the Out-of-School-Hours (OOSH) sector or similar educational settings.

Familiarity with current trends and challenges in community-based education services.

Capacity to adapt training programs to meet the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
