Governance and Compliance Officer
Rate: $35 - $40 an hour plus super!
Type: Ongoing assignment
Hours: Full-time, 38 hours a week, potential Hybrid options

Hays has partnered with a respected state government health organisation based in Newcastle. This role is committed to delivering high-quality healthcare services and fostering innovation in clinical research and governance.
Your new role
- Provide high-level administrative and operational support to the Corporate Governance and Research teams, ensuring smooth day-to-day coordination of activities.
- Assist with the preparation, formatting, and distribution of governance and research documentation, including reports, meeting agendas, minutes, and correspondence.
- Support the Legal & Corporate Governance team with tasks related to privacy, right to information, records management, and enterprise risk processes.
- Maintain accurate records and filing systems in accordance with organisational policies and legislative requirements.
- Coordinate meetings, manage calendars, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the Corporate Governance and Research teams.
- Assist in tracking compliance and reporting requirements, supporting quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide support for research governance processes, including documentation and communication with research coordinators and external partners.
- Utilise Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and other digital platforms to manage workflows and support team operations efficiently.
What you'll need to succeed
- Demonstrated ability to manage a variety of administrative tasks with independence, sound judgement, and effective prioritisation to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and time management.
- High-level written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement, with experience applying quality initiatives to enhance workplace practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and other digital systems to support efficient work processes.
