Overview

Support decision making, deliver insights and help shape the future of international education.

ECU International Business Operations (IBO), a part of the International Office, is looking for a data storyteller and future thinker to join us as an International Strategy Analyst.

In line with the construction of ECU City in the heart of Perth CBD, ECU aims to be a sector leader in international education. Our team is responsible for building and maintaining international partnerships and contributing to maximising ECU's international revenue and growth.

About You

You are naturally inquisitive, a data storyteller, and enjoy working with data and information to uncover patterns, trends and insights to answer the bigger picture questions.

You’re someone who can turn numbers and broad-based, ambiguous questions and challenges into narratives that help teams make better strategic decisions. Think, how will market trends shape our customer and business partner expectations, how will AI augment international recruitment, conversion and business operations, and how governance, economic and social challenges should be adapted and adopted for improved performance. Your role will be to digest and analyse information that expresses these opportunities.

You’re a confident and adaptable person who enjoys working in a multicultural, global, and multi-disciplinary team.

You will bring:

  1. Exceptional business and strategic report writing skills.
  2. Experience working independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives or solve problems.
  3. Ability to contribute to multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic and evolving environment, delivering high-quality work within defined timeframes.
  4. Demonstrated intermediate proficiency of MS Excel , with exposure or willingness to learn other data tools such as PowerBI and Tableau.
  5. Demonstrated experience in analysing complex datasets to generate insights that inform decision making and drive strategic outcomes.
  6. An understanding of, or interested in international education, global markets, or public sector strategy is desirable.

The Role

While you may be passionate about information and data analysis, to succeed in this role, you will need to be a critical thinker and strong communicator - able to produce reporting, research and insights which have a demonstrable impact on improving the university’s international revenue, growth and performance objectives.

Primary functions of this position are to:

  • Deliver high-quality quantitative and qualitative analyses using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar.
  • Support high-impact projects aligned to ECU’s international growth strategy, including new market scoping, risk analysis, and operational improvements.
  • Contribute to strategic briefs, reporting and presentations for senior leadership to support international recruitment, market expansion and revenue objectives.
  • Maintain effective agent management and governance processes, via coordination and maintenance of various frameworks and procedures.

You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry Personal Excellence and Courage.

Why join International Business Operations?

As ECU expands its international presence and prepares for a bold new era with the opening of ECU City, you’ll be part of a future-focused team that values collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement. This is a great opportunity to grow your career in a role where your work has tangible impact on the University's international success.
