About the role

We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to join our team at Jayell Ford in Kyabram, Victoria. This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our automotive service department. As the Service Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our workshop and providing exceptional customer service.

What you'll be doing

Manage and oversee all aspects of the service department, including scheduling, workflow, and staffing

Ensure efficient and timely completion of all service and repair work

Liaise with customers to understand their needs and provide updates on the status of their vehicles

Monitor and maintain high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction

Oversee inventory management and order parts and supplies as needed

Mentor and train service technicians to develop their skills and knowledge

Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment

Prepare detailed reports on department performance and make recommendations for improvement

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years of experience in a service manager role within the automotive industry

Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues

Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to effectively communicate with both customers and staff

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Proficient in using computerised management systems and tools

Proven track record of leading and motivating a team

Relevant trade qualifications or certifications
