About the role
Kelm Hire is seeking an experienced Service Manager to oversee the efficient operation of our Major Facility in Cheltenham, Victoria. This full-time role is crucial in ensuring our fleet of equipment is maintained to the highest standards and that our customers receive exceptional service.
What you'll be doing
Manage a team of skilled technicians and service advisors to deliver high-quality equipment servicing and repairs
Oversee the scheduling and coordination of all service and repair work to maximise productivity and customer satisfaction (working with current service coordinator)
Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices
Monitor workflow, inventory, and budget to identify opportunities for process improvements
Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to the team as needed
Liaise with customers to understand their needs and communicate progress on equipment break downs (working with service coordinator)
Identify staff training requirements and implement development opportunities
Ensure compliance with all relevant equipment/construction industry regulations and safety standards
What we're looking for
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Service Manager or in a Mechanic/Technician role (Equipment Hire industry)
Excellent knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair procedures across a range of makes and models
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
Exceptional customer service orientation and communication skills
Ability to diagnose Access, Materials Handling, Earthmoving and General Hand tools breakdowns/Repairs.
Heavy Diesel Mechanic certification (Advantage)
