- In addition to base salary, this position attracts Superannuation, Leave Loading, Zone Allowance and once off Incidental Payment (conditions apply), Professional Development Allowance, and Salary Sacrificing Benefits (salary packaging).

Please note that as this position is multi-classed as either a RN/M2C or RN/M1, the classification will be determined by qualifications and experience.

Whyalla Hospital
Whyalla Hospital and Health Services is a large regional hospital comprising of 75 beds including flex beds and a designated High Dependency Unit. The hospital provides a wide range of services, including emergency, medical and surgical, maternity, rehabilitation, mental health, and outpatients. Whyalla Hospital’s Cancer Resource Centre is one of the largest in regional South Australia. It includes six chemotherapy chairs, outpatient care and counselling services, reducing the need to travel outside of the region for care. It is also, one of three stroke services in regional SA, providing specialised treatment for suitable stroke patients 24/7, supported by metropolitan stroke units. Our staff work in close partnership with community health services and Aboriginal health providers, to ensure that optimum care is delivered to all areas of the community. About the Role:
The Clinical Nurse (RN/M2C) role offers an exciting opportunity for experienced nurses to expand their clinical expertise across diverse healthcare settings. At this level, nurses build on their solid foundation, progressing from competent to proficient practitioners. As a Clinical Nurse, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of care, while also guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. This position involves taking on more leadership responsibilities, including overseeing delegated activities and offering support to colleagues, all while ensuring the delivery of person-centered care. With the opportunity to take on portfolio responsibilities, your role can be tailored to align with your career development goals, promoting continuous growth and professional advancement within the organization.
The Registered Nurse (RN/M1) role is ideal for nurses who are developing from novice to proficient practitioners. At this stage, nurses are focused on consolidating their knowledge and skills through continuous professional development and hands-on experience in various healthcare settings. While nurses at this level are still refining their expertise, they are entrusted with accountability for their own standards of care and activities delegated to others. The role emphasizes the importance of building clinical competence while supporting team collaboration and patient-centered care. About You:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
RN/M2C
- Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.
- Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
- Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
RN/M1
- Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
