About the position
The Heathcote Electorate Office is the point of contact for constituents and local community groups with the Member for Heathcote regarding State Government services and responsibilities.
The position holder will be the initial point of contact for all constituent enquiries. Administrative functions are central to this role to support the Member, and to ensure the efficient operation of the electorate office.
Local knowledge is desirable but not essential.
The role requires some after hours and weekend work for which an annual All Incidence of Employment Allowance is paid.

Selection criteria
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to respectfully interact with constituents, liaise with community groups, government and non-government organisations.
- End to end management of events, forums, and community engagement activities.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and experience of working with volunteers, stakeholders and the community.
- Good word processing/keyboard and computer skills in an office environment and experience in use of social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram, databases, websites and digital communication tools including Mailchimp, Electronic newsletters and emails.
- Demonstrated superior organisational skills to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated capacity to exercise sound judgement, ability to deal with sensitive and confidential issues, while performing at a high standard under limited supervision and within a team environment within a in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent writing skills including the ability to prepare correspondence, briefing notes, submissions, speeches, newsletters, online content and media releases.
- An interest in, and understanding of, the NSW political context and Australian parliamentary procedures and processes.
- Demonstrated research and analytical skills including the ability to analyse policy and legislation.
