We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Accounts Officer to join our friendly team in Gladstone. This is a 6-month maternity leave cover contract, with a strong possibility of extension or transition to a permanent role based on performance and business needs.

🔍 What You'll Be Doing

This is a hands-on, varied role where you’ll support the smooth day-to-day operations of our finance and admin functions:

• Processing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Assisting with payroll functions as required

• Maintaining financial records and documentation in line with regulations

• Providing admin support to the finance team and wider business

• Handling incoming calls and general office duties such as filing and correspondence

• Contributing to a positive and professional team culture

✅ About You

We're looking for someone who brings both technical skill and a proactive attitude. Ideally, you'll have:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounts or finance role

• Strong numerical and analytical skills

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure

• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (desirable)

• Sound understanding of payroll processes (preferred but not essential)

• A friendly, team-oriented approach and strong communication skills

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

• Ability to demonstrate the functions in the “what you’ll be doing” section
